And in many ways it is.Â

But the solution is not complicated at all. Or it doesn't have to be... Â

Hi. I'm Yolande Norris-Clark--I'm a well-known writer, childbirth educator, birth sovereignty advocate, health coach, and GNM philosopher.Â
And I was 43 years old when I gave birth to my tenth baby.Â
Â
I had lived in my body through adolescent eating disorders, marriage, birth, breastfeeding, heartbreak, loss, growth, and more love than I thought one body could hold. Yet at this point, in my early forties—I felt distanced from it. Not entirely alienated, but disconnected. Like it had become unfamiliar in a way that was unnerving.

I had always "exercised" consistently throughout my life—two decades of Pilates, walking, an occasional burst of energy toward something more—but when I really considered my body, I realized that I was heavier than I wanted to be.

More than that, I felt slower, foggier, and less grounded in rhythm. I felt at odds with myself.

And of course, the Instagram algorithm knew exactly what to serve me: reel after reel informing me that this was so-called "perimenopause"--a byproduct of my very femaleness.

This is just what “just happens” to women our age.
Decline. Hormonal havoc. “Get used to it. It’s all downhill from here.”
But... I’ve never been one to comply—especially not with narratives of resignation.

So I started to get curious about shifting my experience, and maybe the narrative—not through medication, supplements, or hormone therapy (though I don’t actually judge those choices--you do you), but by actually listening to my body.

Could I move toward coherence? Nourishment? Could I be honest about where I was self-sabotaging, where I was out of alignment, where I was asking my body to function inside a life that didn’t actually support vitality?

And almost by accident (but not quite), I got into the very best shape of my life.

I went from an adolescence marred by a serious eating disorder, to an experience of motherhood during which I often allowed myself to be weighed down by the burden of my own victimhood.
Â
Now, at the age of 44, with 10 kids (including an 18 month old--and now pregnant with my 11th!), I am stronger, more beautiful, more whole than I've ever been (and more untouchable than ever by the suggestion that I am anything other than at my peak).

Not just physically, but spiritually, mentally, emotionally.

As a result, my body has changed dramatically.
My relationship with it changed. My energy shifted. My strength didn’t just return it expanded beyond anything I had known. The fog lifted, the chaos softened.

What I discovered confirmed everything I suspected—not just about the female body (and the story of "perimenopause,") but about aging, power, and what it means to come alive again at the apex of life.

This is about becoming who you were always meant to be in the second half of your life.
2. I’m deep in perimenopause—or even postmenopausal. Is this still for me?
Yes. Temple is specifically designed for women in their late 30s, 40s, 50s and beyond. Whether you’re just beginning to notice changes in your cycle or have been postmenopausal for years, the tools, teachings, and frameworks offered here meet you exactly where you are. There is no “too late.” Your body is always ready to move toward vitality.
3. Do I need access to a gym or special equipment?
No. Yolande’s exact strength training plan is simple and intentionally designed to be done at home or at the gym with minimal equipment. A list of recommended tools and activewear is included in the resources section—but nothing is required beyond your commitment.
4. What if I don’t have a lot of time?
Temple was created by a mother of ten. It is designed for real women, with full lives. The practices, meal plans, and movement protocols are sustainable, flexible, and meant to be integrated into your life—not added as another overwhelming demand.
5. Is there any live component or community?
At this time, Temple is a self-paced, on-demand program with lifetime access. While there is no live component, the program is living and evolving—meaning you’ll receive access to any future updates or additions. There may be optional live opportunities in the future--and Yolande often takes on 1:1 clients on a selective basis.
6. I’ve tried so many things before. How do I know this will work for me?
